World Harvest Festival is back. This year the popular World Harvest Festival (formerly known as Gawai Tourism Night) will be held from May 23 to 24 at the Sarawak Cultural Village. Among the highlights are the performances from invited international and local cultural troupes, the staging of a theme play on a legendary Iban warrior entitled "Apai Balang", an ethnic beauty pageant "Miss Fair & Lovely WHF 2009", a unique event where the finalists of "WHF 2009 Iron Man" compete in activities such as lifting rice in gunny sack, blowpipe shooting,etc.

Other highlights include international cultural concerts from the invited cultural troupes as well as Sarawak local troupes. During the day, the groups will conduct workshop and jamming sessions at SCV ethnic houses and perform at Dewan Lagenda.

Other than that, there will also be Food & Craft Fiesta where invited international and local chefs/craftspersons demonstrate and showcase their skills and specialties, workshops and jam sessions.

At night, SCV will be filled with radiant performances, and there will also be open houses in all the three longhouses (Iban, Bidayuh, Orang Ulu) where guests are treated with traditional cuisines.
