VILLAGE IS ALL SET FOR ANOTHER SPECTACULAR WORLD HARVEST FESTIVAL
A fascinating
place of all, the Sarawak Cultural Village was created 18 years
ago to showcase and enlighten people on the many wonders of Sarawak,
focusing on the rich cultural heritage of its people.
You can see
and experience some of the most interesting, entertaining and cultural
events in this part of the world in Sarawak Cultural Village, that
is World Harvest Festival (WHF), held to steer and commemorate the
unique Gawai or Harvest festival, celebrated by most of the ethnic
community of Sarawak.
The World Harvest
Festival (WHF) is in its 4th year and it will once again be organized
at the Sarawak Cultural Village from 24th to 25th of May 2008
A SARAWAK ETHNIC
FESTIVAL - WHF 2008 is indeed an occasion of importance to Dayaks,
non-Dayaks and tourists alike who share in the festivities in a
true Malaysian Spirit.
Despite many
challenges in staging a project of such magnitude, the festival
has created an amount of awareness and interest among the public
and the people in the tourism industry.
The great celebration
within the compounds of the perfect venue, Sarawak Cultural Village,
of bringing both locals and foreigners together where they can experience
for themselves the of the Sarawakian culture.
The WHF was
organized in line with the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism
(MUDT) aiming to position itself as an international event on its
Tourism Calendar. Thus, it became one of the highlights of the Gawai
Dayak celebration.
The WHF provides
the opportunity for the non-dayak to understand the culture, traditions
and aspirations of the Dayak communities.
Tickets will
be on sale at Sarawak Cultural Village and Sarawak Tourism Board
Visitor's Information Center. Special rate that is RM25 of WHF 2008
tickets if you purchase before May 20, 2008.
